9080228.004.1MHe was born in Rupert, Idaho and was always interested in cars specifically hot rods. He moved to California building hot rods and worked at night at Disneyland as a machinist. Coddington opened his own shop in Cypress, California in 1977. People employed at his shop included Jesse James and Chip Foose who are now well known for their building skills and opening their own shops. Most of Coddington’s cars he has built are considered masterpieces. Boyd Coddington will not only be remembered for wearing Hawaiian shirts, but will also be remembered for building custom hot rods like this 1933 Ford Street Rod.
